and The Canton Cabaret for “Only The
Lonely: The Music of Roy Orbison”, a fundraiser for The Rainbow Repertory,
at The Metropolitan Centre in Canton on November 5th, 6th
and 7th, 2010.
This special one-weekend-only
event will feature a 10-piece version of The Ryan Humbert Band, including a
string section. Sing along to over 20 of Roy Orbison's classic songs, including
"Blue Bayou",
"Crying", "Running Scared", "You Got It", "Pretty
Woman", "It's Over" and many more.
In 2006 Humbert and his band had the honor of performing a
12-song "Roy" set for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's American
Music Masters Series in honor of Roy Orbison. They were the only band from
N.E. Ohio invited to participate, where they performed for such notable guests as
Barbara Orbison, Roy Orbison Jr. and legendary Roy Orbison producer Fred
Foster. Due to popular demand, Humbert is bringing an expanded version of this
performance to The Canton Cabaret!
Humbert was the voice and talent behind The Canton Cabaret's successful series "Hank Williams: The Concert That Never Was" in the fall of 2007. After three sold-out performances, demand was so high that two more shows were added. Now, Ryan is back with the Canton Cabaret for the first time in three years for this incredible “Roy Orbison” performance.
Tickets to each performance
are $45 per person and include complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar,
special silent auction items and more at this one-of-a-kind fundraising event.
Proceeds benefit the Rainbow
Repertory Company, a Stark County based non-profit theatrical company founded
in 1994 with a mission to improve our community through the arts. The Rainbow
Repertory original programming consists of student activities, arts mentors,
speakers, school programs for entertainment and education, programs, seminars,
fundraisers and more.
